What am I up 2? Part 2

Hey Guys

Welcome back to the second part of this months update about RTC!

What is RTC?

RTC, which stands for Respect The Corners, is a ministry that reaches all people and nations through the avenues of sport and fitness. There are numerous RTC hubs all around the world, using numerous sports to reach the lost.

As RTC SA, our heart is to break the mould that South Africa created around sport and fitness. The mould is all about looks, performance and dominance and I do not believe that it is God’s original design for it’s people. These days, as you walk into gyms, you do not know where to look cause of the lack of clothes on some females and the sort of tank tops on some guys. Everything is pointed to ’me‘, but rather it’s supposed to be pointed to God, but I believe God called us to redeem the life of sport and fitness in Potchefstroom.

How do we do this?

So 3 times a week, we take our mobile gym, which is a trailer with a lot of CrossFit equipment in it, and we go to the built which is a grassy hang out area in Potchefstroom. We then run free CrossFit classes and fun sporting opportunities like ultimate frisbee, touch rugby and many more sports. It’s completely open to the community, we preach the gospel a lot of the times but also we build intentional relationships with the people to see them discipled to go and influence their area of work for the gospel.

Become part of something bigger?

This last part I want to invite you guys into a special place in my life. So part of RTC, we want to go to the hardest and darkest places to see people reached with the gospel. This December, I m going with a team to Asia for about 2 weeks to go climb the Himalayas and reach people who has never heard about the gospel before.

These people need Jesus and God has called me to go and tell them about it and give them bibles. But this requires money obviously and so this leads me to probably one of the few times I’ll ask over these updates for finances. This trip is up to the Tibet border where very close to none people has been, but this will cost about R40 000/$3000. This includes flights, permits and all necessities to achieve our goal to see those people saved. I want to ask you to please ask God if you should contribute to this goal of seeing people joining us in the book of life and getting a chance to know Jesus!
